Madeline Davy

I was born and raised in small-town Morris, Illinois where we celebrate corn every year and Friday night football games are everything. I’m daughter to two of the most amazing, supportive parents, and sister to three of the best brothers a girl could ask for. I graduated from Morris Community High School in 2014 and have been pursuing Math and Secondary Education degrees at UW-Parkside ever since. Ever since I can remember I’ve wanted to be a teacher, and it only made sense as every adult on my dad’s side of the family is also a teacher. It took me a little while to figure out what I wanted to teach though, all I knew was that I didn’t have enough patience to teach elementary. My mom is actually the one who suggested math as it’s always come pretty easily to me, and it was after my mom suggested math that I realized how all my favorite past teachers were my math teachers, and that I wanted to be that for my future students.  Along with my double major, I have been working towards earning my Certificate of Community Engagement, and with this I have completed many community service hours, including: 250+ hours in middle and high school classrooms, 200+ hours volunteered at running events, 50 hours tutoring at a Racine COP House, and 30 hours spent volunteering at the Eco-Justice Center in Racine, WI.
